In chapel today we used clay (really playdoh) to mold different shapes and talked about how God is the potter who molds us like clay. What do you think God is molding you to be? Do you think he is shaping you to be an artist? or a teacher? or an athlete? or an engineer? or a scientist? or ????

This week our spelling words use the letter g to say the j sound, when there is an e, i or y after the g. A silent e at the end of a word may have two jobs, so study the words for the tests on Wednesday and Friday. Start your spelling sentences, due on Friday also.

I’m a little late posting our Wacky Web this week, because I went to church for the Ash Wednesday service at night! You were all in our special chapel on Ash Wednesday. What did you learn? What was the best part? Did anyone ask you about the ashes on your forehead? Were you able to share how much Jesus loves us all?

We have been talking about baptism. Tell me about when you were baptized, or when you will be baptized. Who was, or will be, invited to be there? Were you a little baby when you were baptized, or do you remember that special day? Do you celebrate your baptism birthday?

Our spelling words this week all end with that ringing sound you hear with the ng or nk ending. Our tests will be Wednesday and Thursday since we are off on Friday for President’s Day weekend. So spelling sentences will also be due on Thursday.

Our Wednesday was pretty special. Our class presented our chapel about snow to the Kindergarten through 4th graders. Everyone learned a lot about Jesus and said that our class did a great job. In the afternoon we had a snowball fight, as part of our science weather unit. What did you think of that??? Congrats to the boys who won! The girls were pretty awesome with snowballs, too.
